well, as some of you may know, or not, i just swapped a fully built y8 block and z6 head into my 99 ex.. slapped on a garrett t3/t04e bb turbo, and about a million other things, shooting for 300+whp on a mustang dyno, but i cant get 'err to go so heres my problem.

car fires up, 2 seconds later it putters out, its getting gas, the cylinders are lubed, grounds are all in order, check engine lights are all ok'd (just an o2 sensor), and thats it!

i think the plug wires are shot, when i put the screw driver by them to check for spark all they put out is a kind of sad yellow bolt, i thought they were supposed to be blue?

any advice? if im going to change the wires i guess ill also replace the distributor rotor, but i kinda want to know if thats how the wires are supposed to be acting? cuz wires aint cheap [&:]

edit::: i am running my 99 civic ex distributor cap and rotor on my 92-95 distributor, could that be whats causing my problems?!

 

Weak spark likely indicates a bad coil or ICM in the distributor. The manual (see signature below) describes how to test the coil with a multimeter. The ICM input tests should also be helpful.

Edit: I am not sure about the cap and rotor compatibility.

not the basemap, my chrome basemap didnt work and it worked on my y8 stock motor with same injectors.. cars running rich too, blows black smoke from the e-cutout when it fires over for 2 seconds.
