Ok i am unfamiliar with a resistor box, but if it can cause the ticking then that may be it too. only trial and error to find out now

 

450's tick whether they're running 100% correct or not. What Tyler is experiencing though, is the normal tick, times a baggilion. I'm thinking that maybe the resistor box is out, and its causing the injectors to fully open all the time, rather than firing when their supposed to, in turn causing a louder tick..

 

this is correct, i believe injector drive is opening up all the way and the ticking is from that. also im running really really rich, black smoke is coming out the muffler. this means there is way too much fuel getting in and could be caused from a bad resistor box. i am firing on all 4 cynliders so i dont think its an injector. my buddy also gave me 4 dsms and i changed all mine out and it still did the same thing. on wed he is going to bring me a resistor box which ill be installing. my engine is being flooded out and nothing is controlling the injectors. the code i am throwing is a solid cel, when i took it up to my tuners he threw his known GOOD ecu in there and it still threw a code. im wondering if the chip went bad in my ecu, bad chipping job from stealth or if its just a wiring problem.

 

did you happen to double check the resistor box wiring? jus to be sure... then you could do a continunity (sp?) test to see if its putting current out to the injectors

 

The box is wired just fine. I went over it with a fine tooth comb after soldering everything together. If it were the wiring, it most likely wouldnt be running on all 4 cylinders anyway.

 

well the DSMs are high impedance, and the resistor box is supposed to bring the DSMs down to the Civic's necesarry lower inpendance, so if you are getting too much fuel, the injecotrs might still be running at high impedence, which would mean the resistor box could be bad. And Tony, while everything may be wired correclty, perhaps the box itself is bad.

fixed the ticking noise. got another resistor box and it went away. the car will now just fire up and then not even idle. it just dies. i talked to street today and he said it could be the chip, i told him what was going on and he said that the same thing happened to him when he had a bad chip. tomorrow i am going to kalamazoo to see the tuner and then i will be getting another chip and making sure my ecu is good. ill update tomorrow.
