Default Prolly a stupid question

Hi I was wondering if I could buy a VTEC head and replace it with my stock regular head? I have a 00 DX with the D16Y7 engine.

Thank you.... I know Im not very good at searching but I did it anyway. Needless to say Im confused with the letter talk. I have a D16Y7 engine....what head would I need to buy that would fit ie the number/code for it. And where would be the best place to get it? I am still searching but I dont want to get the wrong idea and buy a head that wont fit. THANK YOU very much

1. What the exactly is a “mini-me
A “mini-me†is an informal name for a D-Series SOHC VTEC head mated to a D-Series SOHC non-VTEC block. Most mini-me swaps consist of D16Y8 or D16Z6 heads onto USDM D15B, D16A6, or D16Y7 blocks. JDM D15b VTEC heads will work as well.

So if I have a D16Y7 I can buy a D16Y8 head?

d16y8 would work the best since its OBD2 (as is your D16y7) so you wouldnt ahve to to worry about any OBD1/2 complications. Yes, its very doable and i guess there's noticable gains.
