question on b series motors

RE: question on b series motors
i've heard that a b18 block with a b16 head is better because the b20 block is very thin and the b18 block is the strongest one honda ever made. If you get the b18 block sleeved and get some forged pistons and rods and a crank you can run 30 to 40 psi of boost on it. I don't think that the b20 block can handle all that

If you're going to get aftermarket sleeves it doesn't matter whether you start with a B18 or B20 block. The result will be the same.
If you're keeping stock sleeves some will say use the B18,because the B20 won't hold. Others will say the B20 is fine if conservatively tuned. I've heard of well tuned stock B20s busting, and well tuned stock B20s holding. Good condition stock B18s are a sure bet though.

RE: question on b series motors
The advantage to a B20, btw, is building a budget N/A car. With the B20 you get a 3mm larger borewithout having to pay $1000 for sleeves (as you would have to with a B18 to achieve the same bore).
