quick oil change question

i plan to do my oil change sometime this weekend, i got that nice royal purple 5-w30, how is the oil filter suppose to come out, does it turn and then u just turn in the new one like leftyy loosey and righty tighty?? also i dont have gloves to precent the hot oil from coming on my hands, what is the nameo f the special gloves to use, high heat gloves?

just get an oil filter wrench, and yes, right hand thread, and just heavy duty gloves shall do if you need them.

i cant use my hand to take the filter off?, ive seen some mechanics do it be4 or am i wrong?

you can if you're strong enough, if it's too slippery, then a wrench comes in handy, especially on certain cars

i let the car cool down for an hour and use my hand just dont put it back on super man tight snug will do just fine

nevermind lol, found it, ill take the oil out the car, replace it with new oil, wait an hour and let it cool down and then ill take the filtert out by hand, sounds like a better way to do it

no, let the car cool down, THEN drain the oil, swap the filters, then refill the oil

no, let the car cool down, THEN drain the oil, swap the filters, then refill the oil

But doesn't oil come out better when its warm?
