take the head off and get it milled, then get an adjustable cam gear because milling the head throws off the cam timing, then make sure you use high octane because of the jump in compression. thats the easiest/cheapest way to gain considerable power on that motor. or maybe swap on a vtec head, but thats not nearly as simple.

He may mean that he's at altitude, and yes turbos suck *** at high altitude. Big twins on a diesel at 4k ft was rough.

And by the way, "racing" and "budget" or "cheap" do NOT go in the same sentance. If you want to race and be competative, it's a big investment. I've done a lot of racing and even in the low level classes you're still dumping TONS of money into it.

biiiig F-A-L-S-E. ever look at the price tag on the three combined? 350 for exhaust and header then another 200 for intake...that plus shipping you're getting close to the price of a custom turbo setup.
This is true, but to really take advantage of a turbo setup, youll need it to be able to breathe a little better. Although if he does go turbo, he wont need the intake, or the header in the tradtional sense.

exactly...but if you get the turbo first then you feel a bigger gain than you would from I/H/E...and then when you get around to adding exhaust you gain about what you would have initially gained with I/H/E instead of the turbo.
