To be honest there are so many threads on this forum about "how to get cheap power" you should be able to find the info you need with a quick search. 90% of the people on here don't actually do any racing at all..... what's your budget anyway? BTW, listen to sacicons, he knows what's up

like mxs said...why dont you just run a search? theres so much info on this forum that you probably should have found enough to not have even bothered starting this thread. we gave you our opinions, you shot 'em back in our faces, and thats that.

btw chipping the ECU or getting a cam will make like a 7 horsepower gain on a stock engine...so thats why nobody suggested it. too much money for too little gain.

He may mean that he's at altitude, and yes turbos suck *** at high altitude. Big twins on a diesel at 4k ft was rough.

And by the way, "racing" and "budget" or "cheap" do NOT go in the same sentance. If you want to race and be competative, it's a big investment. I've done a lot of racing and even in the low level classes you're still dumping TONS of money into it.
What kind of racing have you done, out of random curiosity?
Nothing fancy, mostly IMCA (dirt) circle track. I have two race cars, an 85 monte and a ~86 Laser turbo (I think it's an 86... the vin and everything were gone when I bought it... it was already partially prepped for racing).

First best mod will be a 92-95 civic ex/si transmission. Lower gear, faster acceleration out of turns and will still top out the same being 5th is still geared the same. Second I would suggest a new intake manifold or a Jackson Racing supercharger which both can be had for a fair price. Then you last option would be to swap in a B20 out of a CRV
