rock the d or b18 swap

RE: rock the d or b18 swap
Stick with your d-series and turbo it. Its a lot cheaper to fix it and you wont have to worry about swapping motors. Plus, you could easily push 200HP out of a D16Y8 (i think thats what you have) with a good tune at around 8-9 psi. Then if you want more power, which I know you will, you can upgrade your internals, run more boost, and make more HP. And if you blow it up who cares? You can find d series parts for really cheap.

RE: rock the d or b18 swap
you can do alot with a grand on a d series. i rethought my reply. basically it depends on waht you want. because i dont know about anyone else, but im never satisfied with the power that i get out of the mods that i do. and i have a b-series. so why start out on a lower power platform when you can start out with more base power? just my opinion... good luck and happy building

RE: rock the d or b18 swap
you can turbo almost anything.
that said a b-seres is more desirable than a d-series.
i'd still get a JDM H22a.
200 hp straight out the box with crazy torque and no tuning time required.
www.streetimports.com has a full turnkey swap with everything you need for $3,000 (but that's only if you have 3 grand laying around the house).
actually, that would be $2,300. dammmmmmm. that's a bargain.
