Where are you finding $300 in labor to replace an engine and tranny?? I wish I lived where you do! I'm looking at more like $800 around here!

I stopped at the garage and checked on the ECM. It has a P2P (OBD II) ECM. This link http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=810101- says that's the correct computer for the 98 EX so does that mean it probably wasn't swapped out when the previous owner but the DX engine in it? I guess that would imply the VTEC computer can still control the non-VTEC motor.

I can't find a D16Y8 available anywhere! I may end up having to go the B16A route. I found one of those for a 96-00 Civic, complete engine, tranny, axles, linkages, ECM for $2900. More than I need to replace but at least I wouldn't be guessing if I was getting what I need. I'd need a rear engine mount from an SI-R it says. What do you think?
