On earlier model Civics, the blue wire attached to the ignition control module in the distributor provides the tachometer signal.

The blue wire is more than likely the one you want. Simply test by doing a quick temporary hook up to the new tach.

The blue wire from the ICM in the distributor goes directly to the tachometer via one of the gauge assembly connectors. On my 97 Civic, the wire also branches to a connector in the engine compartment located on the extreme driver's side near the firewall. Look for this loose connector attached to a blue wire.

wait, 07's already have a tach on the dash, why would you want a different one? im assuming that its all controlled by the ecu, since the throttle is "drive by wire" im willing to bet that tach wire the older ones have has been completely eliminated. good luck with your hunt. if you make good friends with a honda service department employee, they can most likely help you. i recommend this because you can always find something to ask them.....
