Tach wire...
i got guages im putting in, one is a tachometer, butmy mechanic and icant find where the tach wire is in the engine bay. would any one here know, its an 07 civic ex. we tried calling the place but they dont know and honda wont tell us. help please
, thanks
, thanks
The blue wire from the ICM in the distributor goes directly to the tachometer via one of the gauge assembly connectors. On my 97 Civic, the wire also branches to a connector in the engine compartment located on the extreme driver's side near the firewall. Look for this loose connector attached to a blue wire.
wait, 07's already have a tach on the dash, why would you want a different one? im assuming that its all controlled by the ecu, since the throttle is "drive by wire" im willing to bet that tach wire the older ones have has been completely eliminated. good luck with your hunt. if you make good friends with a honda service department employee, they can most likely help you. i recommend this because you can always find something to ask them.....
