RE: Thermostat??
how can i determine that for sure ? cuz it heats up in a mater of like 10 mins and the water starts spilling into the puke tank smoking and stuff also would it heat up cuz i dont have the hose thats sopposed to suck water out of the puke tank? and cani use the 160 thermostat as stated above or would that be too cold?

RE: Thermostat??
I'm not sure about 160 (I don't like to pretend I know things when I don't).
When the engine is running and warm, the big hose to the rad should feel like it has a bit of pressure in it and not be able to be squeezed real easy. (that's if the water pump is pumping coolant around)
It could also be a leak in your head gasket, in which case the exhaust superheats the coolant and causes extra pressure to empty the so called "puke tank".

RE: Thermostat??
Sounds like either of these:
1. waterpump is gone
2. thermostat is gone and stuck in the closed position
You should replace your thermostat, then try it again to see if there's any difference. If it's your waterpump, you usually should replace the thermostat anyways.

RE: Thermostat??
which hose is the hose that feeds water to the engine and is it fed in large vloumes because i change the thermostat to a fail safe thermostat and took it for a spin till the gauge said it was then i felt the hoses for any running watter but felt none on either hose wuts the deal is the pump totally gone? im unsure because sometimes the gauge tells me the engine is extremely hot then a little bit later the temp goes down to half way and any position the hoses still feel empty

RE: Thermostat??
Sounds like your waterpump is gone. Any hose to or from the rad should feel like it has water flowing through it. A cheap failsafe thermostat would have been just to remove it totally and not install a new one. That way there wouldn't be any restriction of the coolant. (Some people remove them for the summer to allow their engines to run a lot cooler.)
