Thermostat??

RE: Thermostat??
usually when a water pump goes, it leaks all over the place. it sounds to me like its the thermo. a 160 thermo will only help if you get a mugen or spoon fan switch sensor as well. if the fan wont kick on till 180, then it doesnt matter if the thermo is open or not. also, if thats what you are doing, an aftermarket radiator cap is a good idea too. though its hard to justify all that (about 100-130 bucks worth) on a street car. temp isnt that big of a deal in normal use. youd be better off getting a bigger radiator for a little more money.

I've seen waterpumps "go" without leaking. They usually leak when the seal goes since most of the manufacturers put a small hole on the outside of the seal so that when the seal leaks, coolant comes out the hole to let you know before you have a full-blown catastraphe. (Although I don't know if Honda puts that hole in for advance warning.)

RE: Thermostat??
yeah they do. its called a "weep hole" i had that problem when i dropped in the b16. i finally got it running, backed it out of the shop for the test drive, and there was a line of coolant following me thats why i am always telling people to do that while its on the ground. ive been there. oh, and a couple of months later, my stock clutch broke. one of the springs broke out and jammed it up. so i made sure to take care of all of that on the new motor. havent had any real problems yet. *knocks on wood*
