Timing advancement for changing 1.5L from Automatic To Standard (1992 civic)
Hey My Name is Dan. I want to Put my old 1.5L that was on an Automatic Trans, into the Newer civic that I bought that is a 5 speed standard. Both cars had/have the 1.5L Engine, But I was told that I will have to change the cars Timing Advancement or Retardency?? I am not to sure on this subject, so any information that You have on changing honda motors or the changes that I need to make this project work would help out tons. (Please Reply A.S.A.P)
Thanks

Dan, if you're in the states, putting an older motor into a newer car is illegal. What year is the car that the engine came out of and what year is the car that it is going into? Trim levels would help too, you see, the engines were actually different between different trims and model years and so were the ECUs ...
No I live in Mission B.C. The car that I am using the motor from is a 1992 civic Hatchback Dx. and the car that I want to put the motor into is a 1993 Civic Dx. Exact same car. cept the motor that I am using came from an automatic and I want to put it into the 93 which is a 5 speed standard. Know anything about that?
