Default changing 1.5L motor from auto to standard (timing advancement?)

Hey My Name is Dan. I want to Put my old 1.5L that came from a 1992 civic dx hatchbackthat was on an Automatic Trans, into the Newer civic(1993 civic hatchback dx)that is a 5 speed standard. Both cars had/have the 1.5L Engine, But I was told that I will have to change the cars Timing Advancement or Retardency?? I am not to sure on this subject, so any information that You have on changing honda motors or the changes that I need to make this project work would help out tons. (Please Reply A.S.A.P)

Thanks
Dan[8D]
