I have a 97 honda civic DX 4 cyl. The transmission went out and I want to switch it from automatic to a standard transmission. Can anyone help me out on what all it takes to do that?

 

The tranny, clutch petal, cables, shift linkage, shifter, all the associated mounting hardware and a really good shop.


I'm prolly missing a lot of stuff so don't make that your shopping list.

Thanks for the list.. any idea of time frame? Comparing just putting in another auto tran in comparison to the standard tran? Now keep in mind this is a self do job. So, how much harder is it?

 

Id imagine its decently hard if youve never done it before. I am paying to get mine done, but in the event I had a secondary car to drive Id do it myself, but I cant afford to have my car out of commission that long, because I have no idea how long it would take me to do it.

 

Has anyone on this forum or know anybody that has done this?
