Two questions, Compression ratio, and Turbo Project.
I was doing some research on how to build a B18b1 up, and I found a nice performance rebuild kit for it with:
Wiesco pistons 8.3:1, 9.3:1, 11.1:1 and 11.6:1, plus 12.4:1) as the compression ratio options.
I know that 9.3 and 9.8:1 are probably safe as long as you use premium gas, and 11:1 I think is for racing fuel only. I also don't know what the limit is for Premium gas. I am willing to use 91 octane, but I can't go above that. I don't live anywhere near a 93 or 101 octane gas station.
Anyway, this kit includes the following for $989 and is found at http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...pek-acura.html
Complete Gasket Set (not sure what kind)
Cometic Head Gasket (I know they make good stuff)
ROSS Forged Pistons
#99808 (.020, 8.6-1) or
#99807 (.020, 9.4-1) or
WISECO Forged Pistons (I want to stick with Wiseco, but Ross is probably decent too.)
(81, 81.5mm bore and 8.3-8.6 comp ratio)
(81, 81.5mm bore and 9.3-9.8 comp ratio)
(81, 81.5, 82mm bore and 11.1-11.6 comp ratio)
(81, 81.5, 82mm bore and 12-12.4 comp ratio)
Performance Rings
Performance Wrist Pins
TOGA HP Main Bearings
TOGA HP Rod Bearings
Thrust Washers
Timing Belt
Expansion Plugs
I just want to know if it's a decent kit that will hold up to 280 ish horsepower and still be reliable. I also want to know what compression ratios are the max for premium gas. Thanks guys!

I also forgot to mention that this engine is getting a Garrett T2.5 turbo and a Ford F350 intercooler. I don't know what manifold or exhaust header to use, so suggestions would be nice. I know not to use SS autochrome, I read that much.

ya man i mean that will hold you for a good amount of boost until you hit like 400 hp im guessing. but if your going to do a turbo, read more on how they work and the parts that come with them
