on stock valvetrain, the stage 2 is a bit much, eventually the valvesprings will get tired and begin to float, causing severe engine damage. the type r cams will give a nice boost in performance, but the S2s will about double the gains of the type Rs. also, the S2 stage 2s are made pretty much exactly for brag racing, if thats what you plan on concentrating on, then its a great setup. if you want to do any kind of circuit or track (not drag strip) racing, then look into some Toda Spec Bs. theyre more expensive than the skunks, but give a broader pwerband as well. but you will also need to upgrade the valvetrain with them as well. oh yeah, and all this is assuming the B18 you have is the B18c1. because if its a non-vtec b18a or b18b, they wont work. and if its a B18c5, you already have type r cams.

so if i decided to go with the toda's, and upgraded my vavletrain and whatnot, how would that wear on my engine? or would it (it is a b18c1). also, is this cam a pretty good allround cam? or does it do really ****ty in a few areas? im gonna keep searching, thanks guys

the Toda cam is a great one. it will wear a bit rough on th evalvestems, but if you upgrade them along with the springs and the cmas and retainers, then its not a big deal. of course it will cause a little more wear on the engine itself, due to higher cylinder pressures, but not a huge amount.
