Hey I have a 93 vx-- motor is in good condition (about 98k, and compression is almost perfect), but I was wondering if to get a little more power bolt on's would help at all with this engine without sacrificing fuel economy too much. I like getting 40 mpg so. I've seen some cheap intakes, throttle body's headers, etc... on ebay but just wondering if anyone has bothered to go this route. I do not want to swap engines. If I'm only going to gain a few hp with bolt on's it's probably not worth it... Is there a supercharger that would work with this engine??

I'm also thinking of getting new rims so I can put larger tires on this car for handling and braking but was wondering if it will feel even slower.. I don't want to lower (mostly used for city driving and many speed bumps)...
