my motor went bye bye today, i got headers put on yesterday and the O2 sensor wouldn't come out of the old headers so i was just going to run and get one today well the hatch didn't make it that far, i thought that it wouldn't be that bad but yeah it ran really lean and just gave up on the way home from my grandmas so this weekend i will hopfull be swaping outhe old for a new mini me

well i have good news and bad my motor didn't blow up it just broke the timing belt but we didn't find that out til we got the motor completely out of the car and i spent 450 bucks on a mini me and a zdf1 clutch and flywheel, and i didn't have all the stuff for the min me so i just took it off the mini me and i i'm gonna build the mini me up for something this summer

Pros:
New motor
Old motor still works

Cons:
The cost

Youll like the y8 though. At least you were able to salvage the old motor too.

I'd say your valves were bent, atleast a couple of them.

which one the stock one is going back in the car and the mini me is getting all the parts to run plus when i tried to put my new ZDF1 clutch in the tranny was siezed to the block, so i'm going to get another tranny and put the new clutch in it and bolt it up to the min me and maybe build the mini me for a turbo, but i can't get the new timing belt on cause i can't get the pully on the crankshaft off we even used a 650ft/lb impact wrench to get it off and we couldn't even get it loose it sucks

its going to be a real p.i.t.a to get the pulley bolt loose , especially w/o the engine being mounted for leverage..... question, why are taking off the pulley for a timming belt replacement? its not necessary that im aware of...

i'm pretty sure you have to get the pulley off to get to the belt cover, to get to the gear for the timing belt and we had a 650 ft/lb impact gun and couldn't break it loose
