valve springs?

Default valve springs?

what can i use in order to compress the valve springs so i can take them apart from the valves? do i need to special tool to compress them or can i use something else? please let me know. i have taken my y8 head completely apart for a good cleaning and this is all thats left.

yea there is a valve spring compressor, its a little special tool.......not too expensive......hell if ur goin to take em out why not just get a set of springs and retainers and some cams?

What kind cam? Crower makes a decent one, but unless u see boost in the future stay away from a turbo cam, as it will only hurt an NA setup.

i was either thinking crower stage 2 n/a or skunk2 stage 1. share your thoughts

is that a vtec head? the normal valve spring compressors will not fit around the spring there is no room, the tool that is used bolts in , and takes place of the cam and gets bolted in for leverage. s why i finnaly gave in and just took it to shop.

yes it is a vtec head. so if i get the normal valve srping compressor it won't work?

no, there is no room for it, the norm is just like a gear puller, its supposed to go and latch the spring then you draw the bottom to the top. but the valves are too cramped, it just will not fit, asnd the proper tool probably cost more than the shop time
