vtec going bad
this is my first time on here so bare with me.
when i bought my 95 civic ex w/ a d16y8, the vtec would kick in at about 4800 rpm and you could really feal it. now when it kicks in, it bogs down, looses power. whats up with that? when its cold it will kick it. but at opperating temp it wont. |
RE: vtec going bad
Are you sure you aren't experiencing something else. Vtec shouldn't kick in at 4800 I dont believe and honestly you shouldn't be able to feel it on that engine.

RE: vtec going bad
welll i happen to have the same engine...vtec comes on at 5500 rpm, and no matter wat anyone else says i can hear , feel , and see the difference. It defintaly changes the noise of the engine, and the rpms will climb quicker.

RE: vtec going bad
IT IS A D16Y8. COME OUT OF A LADIES '98 EX COUPE. 30,000 MILES ON IT.
THATS JUST HOW I BOUGHT IT. $1,800... WASN'T GOING TO PASS IT UP |
RE: vtec going bad
