Default vtec head on a d15 ?

my civic has d15b2 engine. Is there
a vtec head that will work on this engine?
I have access to a junk yard near me with
lots of honda stuff but they know nothing
about such swaps.

if it is obd 1 use a d16z6 head, it was on 92-95 ex and si models. you would need to wire in vtec, and use a p28 ecu for the d16z6

you probably just wanna swap the whole engine. d15s are pretty much useless anyway.

Not useless but, the whole swap would probably be easier and better in the long run. But if you can't find a whole motor, z6 or y8 heads are the one to look for.

i personally recommend the y8 head for ease of use. you wont have to modify your dizzy if staying obd0. you dont necesarily have to convert to obd1. turboedit alows you to convert to one wire vtec considering you also convert to mpfi. dont forget you need the vtec timing belt, and to remove the oil restrictor jet from your block before installing the head.

the y8 was on 96-00. its obdII. the z6 would be easier to put on a d15b2

actually it isn't easier to put a z6 head on without converting to obd1. the obd0 distributer only will bolt up to 2 points not three. the obd0 dizzy will bolt on to all three mounting points.

converting to obd 1 is quite easy read up on it at www.boomslang.us

personally i think a hole motor swap is easier, because a newer motor either obd1 or obd 2 should have lower miles on it, and the motor is out so you can change the clutch, and clean and paint your engine bay black to make it look better
