yeah, i was adding it all up in my head today, and i think it will blow your budget pretty well, but im thinking around 260-270+ FWHP, and a fat torque curve, and maybe 9000-10000+ redline, though anything over about 7800-8000 wont gain much if any power without individual TBs, and they run close to 2k for a good set. but with them, im estimating close to 300 all motor HP. should be good for high to mid 12s in the right chassis. maybe even better.

That's awesome, 270 whp sounds good to me... 10,000 rpm sounds even better. I'm with ya on all that stuff being more than 5g though. We'll see what kind of funds I end up with. Thanks for all the info man.

Just out of curiosity, what do you do about filters with ITBs?

Edit: check out the post counts.

and you can get a HUGE start on it for 5k, esp if you find a motor with a dropped valve or something, then build on that. and then you can save money while its being assembled and buy the finishing stuff as it all comes together. but even a blown engine, try to get it complete, with all the wiring at least. i guess manifolds dont matter, but accessories like alternator and such would be a lot easier if they just came with the motor. of course getting all that stuff new would be sick, then you wouldnt have to worry about anything breaking for stupid crap.

umm, filters? yeah, umm. maybe pieces of screen mesh hoseclamped on? thats a pretty serious mod, and comes with reprocussions. but i think there are a couple out there that have a removeable plenum that you can run like a normal IM, but take it off and run true indies on raceday. but even then, the screen isnt a bad idea. lets just say i know a guy who had a little run in with a bird........[]

Ouch, bird can't be good for an engine. They're so pretty. You could prolly just get like some foam and stick in the top of each one right? Or get really creative and use some sort or rubber hose and run intake lines down into the fender and fab something so they could attach to a regular filter.

Listen to me go on like these will ever be on my car.
