98 civic.. dx i believe... what engine comes in that? is it like D series?

i was going to get GSR engine a while back. but it turns out that i cant save my money long enough.. so is it possible to make the engine i have fast? its not v-tech. and i prolly wont get a different engine. so becides all the basic bolt ons. what else can i do. i need power. i was just about to buy a different car. but i decided to keep the civic since i did body stuff to it.

ive also looked at turbos and i havnt found one that fits dx. does that matter. like if i got a turbo thats for ex and put it on my dx. hrmmmm.

dont remember the exact engine code but i know its a SOHC non vtec....check on the block right by the header...next to the tranny...there will be a little pad like flat spot and the engine code is there
