what would getting a distributor do as far as performance and how hard is it to install

You do have all that. It's just set up differently, most likely to make the engine bay look more organized and neat. Keep in mind the picture you gave a link to is from a 92-95 civic. You have a 2003 civic right? Attached is an engine bay from a 2003. circled are the spark plugs wires. The wires are hidden under to red rail above them.

Aye, alot of cars have them integrated into a little cover like that. Some of the older dohc's are like that too i believe.

And some engines don't even have the distributors, they have coil packs. My old car had an individual pack on each cylinder, they were pricey to replace too, if they ever went out, and looked pretty ugly imo.

the coil on plug is a very nice design because the computer controls when and how to spark that perticular cylinder, if people had those on obd1 cars they would be making more power because they could fine tune each cylinder by what it was doing

In that picture that has the circle... to get that red thing off is super simple... use a flathead screwdriver and half turn it counter clockwise... it comes right off and you can see your spark plug wires

anyone know what kind of strutbar that is? i thought only neuspeed and dc sports's cs2 had bars that were compatible with the v2
