Chalk up another one for Mobil 1 Full Syn. I also use Shell V-Power premium gasoline. I can hear some of you probably saying I'm throwing my money away, but wtf, it only costs me about 2 bucks extra per fillup, and I only fill up once or twice a month. Oh no, 30-40 bucks extra a year. With these gas prices, that *might* buy me one extra fill per year. Big whoop.

Mobil 1 5W-20W since first oil change at 5K. Occasionally Lucas oil stabilizer mixed.

ORIGINAL: Toppers
Honestly, I don't understand why anyone would spend money putting synthetic into a Civic. These motors have been turning hundreds of thousands of miles for decades on dino oil. What does synthetic accomplish that dino doesn't, which justifies that outrageous cost?
Sure, an engine will run fine on regular oil, but that same engine will run better and longer on synthetic. Just think of synthetic as a little extra TLC and piece of mind.

I'm running either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple 5W-30 all year long.

I just converted from mobil1 to Royal Purple and oh man i noticed a big ol diffrence in engine performance. Just yesterday before the oil change which was 3500 miles the engine felt all slugish; and after i added the royal purple the engine felt like it had way more power it reved up like nothin. And the car felt light im convert man that stuff is great. BTW i heard about it from this thread and i could only get it at napa warehouse I love it!
