just buy a used and messed up head so you can build it from scratch.

eh..idk those parts arent bad and if you dont mind pulling the head apart to intsall a good cam its well worth the 285 pricetag. most used and non built heads go for that.

If you want something done right, do it yourself. I wouldn't trust many people to "build" anything for me.

^ Smart man, very rarely will you see a person put pride into a build that is not for themselves anymore. Me and my freind plan to start building and selling short blocks and we have brought this up many times in conversation. We are going to try and start building and selling engines in the fall and we plan to put all effort into them as we would for our own cars. We built the engine and installed it into his Eclipse and have gottem praise from numbers of people and a good number of local shops on it. First question is allways "Who built it for you" then a "Who installed it" and people are shocked that us 2 did all work other than machine work in his 2 bay garage.

This is what turns alot of people off about modding and building cars, it takes dedication and the willingness to go that extra mile to make sure it is done correct the first time. It is hard to find people that actually take pride in it which is a shame really. Go look at the pics of his Eclipse, of the engine in the middle of the build and the engine bay after it is installed. Not to brag but that is the cleanest 3rd gen Eclipse engine bay you have ever seen and yes I promiss you this. Not only that you can look at it and tell it was done right. Nobody turned a wrench on the engine or on that car other than me and him.
