RE: Z6 or Y8??
well damn. considering its my girls car, its going to be a daily driven car. so something within reason lol. 17.4:1 is just a bit too high. what can i do to get a decent cr still for a daily car? she wants it to go fast and all(as do i). but i must keep it all street legal and pass emissions for california. (cali sucks!!!)

RE: Z6 or Y8??
meh...i mostly go off of the big one that i mentioned before (b7 block, y8 head, a3 rods, z1 pistons) and know the difference between some of those and other things. the difference between the Y8 head and the Z6 head is about .4 compression points higher on the Y8. so if something is 12.1:1 on an engine with a Y8 head it will be 11.7:1 with the same engine with a z6 head.

He said daily driven. It's not always convenient to stop by the race track on the way to work.
Anyway, whatever CR you go with will be dependent on climate and what gas you have available to you. You can find CR calculators on the web, although from what I've seen some contridict each other as far as what specs are required to calculate it. So I've never been sure which is right, or I'd link ya. GL
