the D15B head is a exact copy of the Z6 head, both are P08 stamped, both have the same cam in them
Hmm, there is some conjecture about this. I personally have both cams and I can tell just by looking at them that they are not the same cam. Both heads are stamped p08 but does that necessarily mean theyhave the exact same flow characteristics?

I'm not gonna argue with you. It's splitting hairs either way, but I have read several opinions that suggest differences.
I dont plan to argue either but it is besides the point when you can slap a good aftermarket cam in it for so cheap. I like a Z6/D15B better than the 6th gen D's simply because they have been alot more predictable for me.

z6 is obd1 and y8 is obd2 correct? because i have obdo right now would i be better off with the z6? just wondering in terms of an easier less pita swap(plus the y8 has a hydro tranny does it not?) sorry im still a noob on this subject and trying to see what will work the best for my goals, thanx

that is the stamp put on the casting from the factory denoting that the head is cast out of the same press

what are your goals and what kibda money yo plan on spending?
well my golas would be maybe 150 to 170 hp(n/a) and i have 6k to spend on the engine, i want a sohc(most ppl reccomend a b series since i can spend this much) but id like to get the d16 and then do some bodywork on my car too. thanx

i have a d15b1 usdm(not d15b or i would keep it, lol) with the infamous 4 speed manual, lol. in other words its obdo with a cable tranny

Z6, akmee head package, new gaskets, new water pump, new timing belt, cable tranny, stg2 exceddy clutch, 11 to 13lb flywheel, and a tune on a p28
