Question 93 Honda Civic Hatch, DX exhaust / intake?

First post here. I have a 93 Honda Civic DX hatch with a D15B7 motor; 5 speed - I am the original owner. I have 549000 kms on all original parts (except the stereo, muffler, belts, tires etc.) and the exhaust is broken just in front of the cat converter. Now, I have a temp fix to quiet the motor but need to repair the exhaust.

Upon looking around, I can find alot of exhaust systems on ebay, but was wondering what is the recommendations to replace the exhaust. I live in rural Canada. Would I also need to modify / replace something in the intake as well? Please note that fuel economy is my goal and not a racy sound and I would like to keep my "Little Red" going for much longer.

Btw, unrelated, I do have a small rear main seal leak.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you

Vec
