I just traded in a 08 civic ex for a 2012 civic LX. I wanted a manual transmission, so I had to get the LX, because the EX only comes with an automatic.

Honda gives no info about that echo button. From what I read above, and what I thought it did, I guess I know how to use it. It is frustrating that they dont give any info about it. It makes very little difference to me. I know that it is just a gimmick. That mileage readout is such a blast, LOL. What a joke. Cars have had vacuum gauges as mileage meters for over 50 years.

The only way to find actual mileage is to keep a record of the gas put in the car and the miles traveled. Any other way, and you are just guessing.

I like the civc so far. Some thongs are better then the 08 and some things are not as good. I will never understand why they change the things that are good.
Hu knows.

The eco button is mostly a gimmick. It really helps those with a lead foot. I honestly stopped using it and havent used it for months. I just watch my driving.

The i-mid is actually quite accurate with gas mileage. Within 1-2 mpg's for me.

As far as why they changed good things and went cheaper or worse....is simple actually........production costs, higher profit, etc...
