"what have you done to your civic today?"
#1866
this is the weird part of my car as you know I have a 95 Civic, I did research on the car and its supposed to have a 12 to 13 gal gas tank yet when I fill from empty the meter says I fill up at around 7 gal. everyone tells me tats not right and some say my sending unit may be bad IDK ill have to check when i have money.
Anyways its about $2.95 a gal here (ARCO Gas) I pay about $23.50 per fill up and I only get about 240 miles per fill up.

well the gas gauges suck in just about every vehicle... the shape of the tanks throw it off ALOT. like in my truck i can drive about 50-70miles before my needle ever gets off the Full mark and then it NOSE DIVES.LOL
with my old civics i always went with the low fuel light when i had to get gas...... i loved that light! when it came on i knew i at least had 20miles more i could go.

You don't need premium for the D15B.
I'm not sure what octane the D15B requires though... in Japan they use the RON method of determining octane and in the US we use RON+MON/2. I would just use 87 octane and if you get any pinging check the ignition timing and if that doesn't work try using 89 octane. Unless of course in CA the regular is 89... then you should of course be fine with regular.

I'm not sure what octane the D15B requires though... in Japan they use the RON method of determining octane and in the US we use RON+MON/2 (also called PON). I would just use 89 octane... that should be sufficient. If you can't get 89 then go 91. I don't think I would put 87 in it. If you currently have 87 in the tank then just add a little octane booster before you run it... or just run it on 87 for the time being.
