doubt it... but I think we'll be seeing a few more diesel models down the road. Those or Hybrids.

hooray for higher priced diesel fuel
I just think the new civics are just too ugly to worry about what engine is inside anyway.

well i was reading this artical on google... Posted on Tuesday 23 October 2007 Honda’s Civic range is currently available with a diesel engine in some markets, developing a reasonable 140hp and 340Nm of torque from its 2.2L of displacement, but rivals like the VW Golf, Renault Megane and Toyota Auris models are available with diesel mills with around 170hp. To catch up Honda is considering adding the more powerful 2.2L CTDi engine from the Accord range to the Civic hatch. The carmaker’s top powertrain engineer Kenichi Nagahiro has revealed to Autocar that a diesel-powered Civic Type-R is on the cards. “As long as it is in keeping with the Type-R brand we will do it.” he told reporters, “high revving has to be part of it and that’s what we’re working on.” For the Type-R engineers hope the engine will output close to 180hp and develop peak torque of approximately 430Nm.HERE is another site...... According to Honda's top powertrain engineer, Kenichi Nagahiro, Honda is working on a diesel powertrain for its beloved Civic Type R. The Civic Type R D will most likely be powered by the same 2.2L diesel engine that we will see in the Accord next year. "As long as it is in keeping with the Type-R brand we will do it." he told Autocar. "But high revving has to be part of it and that's what we're working on." The final output of the diesel powered Civc Type R is rumored to have around 180 horsepower and 320 lb-ft. of torque. Who knows if we will ever see it on these shores, since we don't even have the regular Civic Type R. Tear[/align]
