Default 1989 hatchback

Okay HCF! I found a 1989 si hatchback today, the guy wants 800 for it, all stock only thing it need is a new driver window, i found this car though a friend who said i can bring him down some if i try.

The same friend has a d15 with a y8 top end with 30,000 miles on it. im selling a dirt bike to him i hope (has yet to decide if he wants to buy it) and he says if i knock some of the price off he will do the swap for me and do all the wiring. His brother hasa 4 pound bottle nitrous kit with up to a 35 shot he wants 400 for the motor and 150 for the kit. He says this motor really pulls and i take his word for he has built 4 civics in the past 4 years.

I want to do this cause i have a 2002 ex and im sick of f**king around with this S**ty motor.

My question is this a pretty good idea to go with this car? because i want something that is cheaper to mod cause i finally am sick of dealing with these 7th gens!

i mean in terms of swapable motors. The d17 has one choice, and its expensive.
But im going to look the car over, my friend was going to buy it, but doesnt have the money at the monent, he has a lot going on in his life, a kid on the way, car payments, etc...
He says good things about it.

Anyone have any information on a d15 with a d16 y8 head?
i have heard some good things from some people, but not much info on them.

thanks man! i really am stoked about this car, because im buying it with my own money and im not limited to what i can do with it like the car that was given to me by my dad.

they say the motor is non-vtec in the si.... and that this d15 with the y8 head (mini me) that my friend is selling is a fast little motor, and i can pick up a nitrous kit along with it.
Any suggestions on that?
