Hi I am new to this forum. I came here for a little help. I bought a 1993 honda civic dx sedan about 6 months ago from a dealer. There is this little red lcd (or led?) light on my dash next to my rear window defogger button. All it is is a little light, there is nothing written/labeled on it. When I bought the car it didnt come with the manual. I have never really known what it is, but it lit up tonight and I dont know what it is. My car seems to be running fine and there no check engine lights on or anything.

it might be an alarm led. can you take a picture and show us?

 

Does it stay on constantly or does it blink? Is it on while the engine is running or only after you have shut the engine off?

 

I have the same exact car and I don't have that light, it must be aftermarket. I would have to agree that it is probably an alarm. Either that or an led to make someone think it has an alarm.

 

dito.... simple alarm led. its very common spot since thats the fog light location isnt used much... mines got one as well, but its not hooked up to anything... they aparently just left it thier cause it looks beter than a HOLE in the dash.LOL

yea, after seeing the picture there's no doubt that's aftermarket. like said before though it's probably for an alarm

 

In my civic my rear window heater is in that space and where your window heater i have the rear fog light button, also on a left hand drive but a European one.
