Default 1996 OEM Floor mats...GRAY!!!

Picking up a 96 Civic Ex tomorrow. 1 owner.. all original. 95k for miles. Car is red with darker gray interior. Automatic...errh...comments welcome! lol!

Want to find OEM mats in gray and cant for the life of me find them anywhere. Seems all vendors.. ebay..etc.. sell black.

Was hoping for some other modification ideas...simple ones. Fog lights..etc? Its my commuter car but I still want it to look sharp. Weekend car is a 2008 E90 M3.

Some pics for the forum...

Thanks..

Mike

Welcome to the forum!

What is your budget like for making it look "sharp"? If the money is there, then I say lower it about 2" and put some SI wheels, or GSR Blades on it. After that, lip kit (painted), paint the side skirts, fog lights, and get some 99-00 tail lights (red/white instead of the stock red/white/amber for 96-98).

Thanks for your suggestions. Hoping to put about 2k into it.

Def plan on getting some Si wheels and 15" tires. Still need to research brand and tire sizes? Gather 205 seemed the norm on here. I have eibach springs on my bimmer. Good for Hondas too?

Def getting the rear tails. Car didn't come with fog lights but those would be great functionality and look wise. Ebay for those???

I prob cant do the body kit stuff. Roads and bumps around here are brutal. I did my whole front end, hood, mirrors etc with clear bra.

Def needs a new headunit too! Any recommendations?

Fun lil project car.

Either 195/50 or 205/50 or 45 (depending if you plan on slamming the car) for the tires I would suggest.

Lip kit, not body kit. It is just something that attaches to the underside of the OEM bumper. Civic SI's come with a front lip kit from the factory. They only hang about 1/2" (if that) farther from the OEM bumper and add alot of style IMO.

eBay for the fogs. Should be about $45 for the set I think.

Eibach should be fine. They are well known company.. and that is what you want when looking at suspension stuff. Don't plan on lowering more than 1.5" on stock struts, or they will begin to leak much faster than if at the stock ride height.

Unless you swap to a 99-00 set-up (heater core, blower motor, and entertainment/climate control console) and get a double DIN head unit, I really have no suggestions for a head unit I will never go back to the single DIN units as they aren't as fun to play with. haha

Si wheels/GSR blades with tires - $500 (at least, especially with new tires)
Tails - $100
Fogs - $50
Lip kit - $75
Head unit - $150

After that stuff, you are left with about $1100. A good suspension kit (coilovers or koni yellows and ground controls) will run you at least $800. Remember to get an alignment after touching anything suspension related!

Those aftermarket parts are not expensive at all. Other models would probably cost a fortune. The advantages of driving a Civic

Welcome to the forum.

I also recommend the Si wheels. I run 205/50/15 with no problems.
