Default 2000 Civic automatic tranny dipstick?

New member here. I've read a lot of interesting things on this site and I can not wait to learn tons of new stuff. I just did my first oil change the other day, and was amazed how easy it was. Its also nice to save some cash by doing it myself too.

I plan to change my tranny fluid soon and noticed that my dipstick was very loose. It seems to just sit in the hole. It does not fit tight like my motor oil dipstick. I am not loosing any fluid form the hole, but just was wondering if this is normal?

Normal. Yeah, that bothers me too, but it's the design.

Thanks.

I tried looking for a thread that shows how to drain/fill your auto tranny fluid, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know of a thread for this.

Just wrap a piece of used chewing gum around it.
