2000 vs 2001 civic si? which body style?
Well my 94 civic is gone and i think i want another civic. But i cant decide between these two body styles...both are so different. Must be an si. Heres how I see the pros/cons from my limited research:
99-00 SI
160 HP 1.6L revver, less torque
double wishbone front susp
2600 lbs
body style a bit more dated
01 SI
160 HP 2.0, redline ~6000 rpm
mac strut front susp
150lbs heavier
body style more modern
Car will be used for commuting and spirited driving
I'm ok with having a coupe body for both as there are no 01 hatches around.
I like the feel of lighter cars that handle well, can anyone comment how the 01 compares to the 00?
thanks

I think you mean 02-05 SI; there were no US-spec (which I'm assuming is what you're talking about since you mentioned the k20) SI's made in 2001.
At any rate, go with the EM1 (99-00); they look better and don't have the sorry excuse for a k-series (k20a/k20a2 > k20a3), not to mention b16 parts are less expensive than k20 parts.

Ehh, they aren't really slow; they run the same times as the EM1 stock for stock. That being said, for a k20, they're slow; but that can be fixed with a quick little head and transmission swap
