Default 2001 Civic Lx Headlights

Hello all,

First off I am new to this forum and Honda's. Just bought me a 2001 Civic and am trying to get it back close to OEM parts. The previous owner had tied lighted windshield washer nossels into his turn siginal wires. I took both healights out and got the drivers side fixed. When I took the passenger side out the set up was diffrent. It looks like he also bypassed the turn signal plug and hardwired directly to the socket and bulb. I guess I can order the plug and socket from toyota..no big deal. Then I noticed the passenger side headlgiht bulb and plug was very loose. It had a big rubber seal and when I went to remove it, it just came right out bulb, plug and all. After looking at both lights I realize two things. (1) The passenger side is missing the plug and socket that the driver side has (I assumed they should have the same wiring setup). (2) Inside the drivers side a noticed what looked like a "wire bracket" and a screw that held the light bulb in place, the passenger side had the same plug but no screw or bracket, thus the reason it was loose. Do I need a new headlight?, Does this wire bracket come with bulbs (most likely not) or with a new assembley? Any help would be great. There are pics attached.

Nate

The bracket does not come with a bulb. You can try looking at a junk yard. See if you can find a 2001-2003 wrecked from wherever. All you need is the bracket and the screw. It's possible that this bracket is universal and that any one you can find will do though. Try 1996-2003.

I'd recommend a junk yard trip before heading to the dealership.

On the wiring... I would say that as long as it works and seals, leave it be. The wires may not be completely stock but if they function as they should, that's all that matters.

Civics are made by Honda not Toyota. If you can't find them at a junkyard i dont see them as being too expensive, but another question is do they even sell just that part
