Default 2004 Civic Sedan LX 2.4L

hello all,

first of all sorry if i posted this on a wrong place.

I am Moe,
the reason i am here is that i am not that good with cars i have a question which i believe some one here could help me out i would really appreciate that.

The thing is i have a 2004 Honda Civic LXi Sedan 2.4 sitting on 14” stock rims, so i went to buy rims for my car today 17” and the seller was saying dont put 17” for the car it will give problems to the Gear, he told me go for 14” or 15” thats the best for your car.
So before i take a decision i want to make sure from here those who have honda is it true that it will effect my gear if i put on 17” rims?

could some one help me and guide me what should i do as i am planing to go and purchase the rims tomorrow.

I would really appreciate anyones kind support on this.

Thanks.
Moe.
