3rd brake light help please!!!!!
hey howz it going, i noticed that my 3rd brake light on my honda civic wasn't working. so i took the brake housing out and found that the bulb was blown. now i thought that was the problem but when i put a new bulb in it still didnt work i check the fuses there all good. so can someone please tell me what the heck is going on.[:@]
its a hatchback when i used a test light on the positive side of the socket it lights up, but when the bulb is put in the socket it wont light up so what the hells going on here.?
ok a hatchback is a start... do you have an 88-91, 92-95, 96-00, 01-05.? either way if my knowledge serves me right, there should be two screws holding the red cover on, and you should be able to just pull out the old bulb and put in a new one.
it a 94 hatchback like i said I've taken the old bulb out and when i put the new one in it still doesn't work i also checked all of the fuses so i have no idea whats giong on????
if it was a fuse, your gauges wouldn't work too. cause they run off the same fuse. it is either the connection to the bulb's wiring, or the socket. that or you used a broken bulb lol
sometimes the connections that actualy physicaly touch the bulbs get a little rusty/dirty. A little swab with some alcohol might help, or if its a spring loaded type thing, try prying the springed sides out gently to get them to come more into contact with the bulb housing.
Haven't had a similar problem, but thats what I would try, hope it can help!
