Default 6th gen stick question

I found a 2000 ex manual coupe in my paper for way less than kbb, and im thinking of buying it and selling my LX to make some profit, but the ex is a manual, and ive never driven one before, does it have the little up and down arrows that light up to tell you when to shift, or do you have to know based on sound of the engine?

I hope i can test drive it tomorrow : /

You wont be able to test drive the car unless someone teaches you how to drive it. Driving stick is harder then you think. Till you learn it then its easy. Theres nothing that tells you when to shift or what would be the point of it being manual? You shift when you feel like shifting. You can base it off of the sound of the engine or by looking at the tachometer. You definately want to use the tachometer for consistent shifts or if you got a lead foot and redline alot.

MY HX has a shift light(arrow), dont go by the light and dont take your eye's off the road, to look at it. The clutch on a car is a little diff than say a dirt bike. I thought when i got the car i will shift it fine, but no.. my mom taught me how to drive it,lmoa.... her first car was a CRX. Any way's, If you stop on a hill, be ready to take off as soon as the let off the brake becuase you will roll back. When i firts started driving i would ride the clutch a little, i mean i would get the RPM"s to like 3 or 4k and slowly let out the clutch so i will not stall. i did this becasue i didnt know how the clutch is and what RPM i needed to be in, and where the let of is(clutch disengage).

have someone else test drive it for you.

stick is not hard, but it does take a week or so, I would say for most, to get used to driving a stick.

At first, first gear up hill may seem hard, but now I don't even think about driving and shifting, I just drive.

o well, doesnt matter, it wasnt an ex. it was debadged, but the manifold was attached to the cat, he must have been trying to pass it off for a better trim. 2500 for a 2000 ex seems to good to be true anyway.
