Last year, my '00 ex was stolen in the early am. Luckily, NYPD found it in brkln. They took my rims (konigs) with 2-day old kumhos along with headlights, fenders, hood, bumpers. Luckily, the engine was left untouched when it was recovered.
Im rebuilding it now and probably will get full coverage insurance this time.

ya someone upgraded there 96-98 to a 99-00 front end.LOL at least insurance will cover it!

People tell me I have nothing to worry about with my 96 civic cause it has NO mods, but I still get nervous.... even with an alarm and the Club.
This guy from the Bronx told me that Civics get stolen all the time out there.

 

cyberx- it was stolen ~7/07 and recovered less than 48hrs later. i had it towed/parked in my folks backyard until it was resuscitated. now it has nexo ts8 16" in gunmetal on tokico blues suspension kit and just ordered apexi noir. needs a new paint job, still looking for a shop.

civic burns all - i did not have full coverage on this vic at that time. so i had to "shell" out the cash. it only had 55K on it after 7 yrs w/ me (2nd car).

babyivan- i was in flushing queens and parked on the street and was found in the canarsie area.

 

what kind of security did the car have prior to it getting stolen?

I was thinking about getting the alpha lock. It's pretty much a self applied boot. I see some Hondas with it and it looks hard to beat......

 

security was just your run of the mill car alarm (no paging ability). everyone just ignores them. alpha-lock looks good
