Hey I am pretty new to cars and everything (sort of) my parents own an auto repair shop so I have always been around them but I just got my own car.

My question is this. Its a 91 Civic DX and I was wondering if it would be worth it to do anything to it (performance wise) and if so what I should do exactly and how much it could run me for costs.

you can do a complete swap including OBD1 conversion, and tranny for under 1000 bucks

 

Awesome that sounds like just what I was looking for. Should I worry about maybe a new intake and exhaust too? Cause some kids at my school were saying that.

I say worry about doing a nice clean swap first, then worry about the bolt on goodies later. Do the swap right the first time. Find a good motor low miles and maybe have your parents place put the motor in for you. (should be cheap) Sell the old motor to fund the rest of your build.

 

concerning the intake and exhaust you can if you want the sound change i i dont really think the minimal hp gains you will see from the two is really worth 400-600 dollars. but if you plan to do any further large power increases to the engine then a larger exhaust is a must.

 

I think you will need to do something with the intake because the stock setup for the DPFI just won't fit a MPFI. The exhaust you can do later.
