'96 civic dx dash fan switch

Default '96 civic dx dash fan switch

i have a '96 civic dx. my switch on the dash for the a/c & heater works but only on the two higher settings and not on the lower settings. when on defrost it work the same but not much air comes out to really defrost if its iced up. any help would be appreciated.

It's probably your resistor. It's mounted behind the glove box on the fan unit. Also check for mouse nests in the ductwork as these can cause poor airflow and also overheat the resistor.

I found a birds nest in the air intake of a Lincoln a few years ago. It's very possible there is some kind of blockage in the air ducts. As far as the low speeds not working, mk is probably right about the resistor it looks kinda like this
