Default 98 Civic wont start

My civic has been running perfect until yesterday. I went to the store to buy something and then went home. I needed to go again to the store when my civic wouldn't start. I have full power but there is no spark. I hear the fuel pump turning on and the ignition relay ticking from there nothing. My civic you need to start with the clutch pressed in. So it is acting like if the clutch wasnt pushed in. I tried a new battery, checked all fuses that would go to the engine and all are good. Banged on the started and nothing, everyone I have spoke to tells me that has to be the starter. Any ideas??????

Check the starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal:

hey thanks that kinda makes some sense because lately i have been seeing rubber parts on my carpet and i thought it was from the brake but i looked at it and they had put a screw there so i never knew where that came from so now i know that might be my problem

i agree with ronj... check the switch... (i had the exact same problem awhile back) but right before u check it, see if the rubber stopper thing on the clutch pedal is not broken off. cause that was my problem and not the switch.

You can just unplug the switch and jumper the plug to bypass it for a test. If that turns out to be the problem though, it is a very good idea to fix it properly. At some point you're prone to start in gear and crash into the car in front of you.

Thanks everybody it ended up being the rubber stopper that broke. SO I installed a screw in there and it works perfectly!!!!!
