Default AC Compressor turining off and on every 5-9 seconds

Is this normal? I am new to Civics. It seems to be cooling fine. Ambient temperature around 65 degrees. It does it all the itme while driving in the city. Lowest AC fan setting, highest (coldest) AC setting. When I idle the car and turn the AC to MAX, then the compressors takes a Lot longer. I guess little knowledge is worse than no knowledge, Just wondering if the cycling is too often when ac fan at low and ac at coldest.

Man I hope it makes sense. : (

That's normal in cool weather. It cycles off to prevent over-cooling and covering the evaporator coil with ice. If the coil became covered with ice, no air can flow through it and it will stop working.
