so i adjusted mine fully advanced, the car feels quicker. how much gas milage am i expected to lose and is it harmful for the motor to have a little higher idle in the long run? running 91 octane?

 

It has a knock sensor, when it starts knocking the ECU retards the timing, so you haven't accomplished anything. Why is everyone out in their driveway trying to second-guess the Honda engineers? They really knew what they were doing.

 

How do you (RDR) continue to make duplicate threads? Are you trying to go back into your threads after posting and not seeing them due to not refreshing the screen?

+1 to what mk said. Until you get before and after dyno results, I don't believe anything like this makes power.

 

This is an old drag racers trick, but as has been mentioned, it only really applies to older motors, without computer control and a knock sensor (which, also as mentioned, will just retard the timing back as soon as it picks up a single knock from too much advance, negating any change you made).

Oh, and yes, running too much advance can make you run lean, which can do major damage to an engine if left in that condition for too long.

 

yeah it was put back to 18* stock is 16* and the idle screw was put back down
