I live in VA where i hear the laws are strict on what you can modify on the car for it to still pass inspection. i own a 99 dx and am trying to find cheap ways to make it somewhat faster and give it a sharp appearance. Already have 2.5 inch pipes and a tuner muffler. Advice and info on what is and is not legal?

 

VA might have a hight restriction, so if you lower your car don't lower it too much (I would check to see if they do). No streetglow or any outside lights. I wouldn't get any louder of an exhaust. In illinois they are very picky about that.

 

what kind of mods are you talking about? Like mods in general? Performance? Aesthetics?

most things as long as they have a CARB# sticker that comes with them make them exempt from smog/ emissions, however check your local laws.

 

YEAH ANYTHING THAT IS CARB LEGAL. IM PRETTY SURE ALL AEM INTAKES. CHECK FOR BADGES THOUGH. MINE HAS IT. THERE ARE ALSO SOME TURBO AND SUPERCHARGER KITS OUT THERE THAT ARE 50 STATE LEAGLE. JUST REMEMBER IF YOU BUY NAME BRAND AND THE PRODUCT IS LISTED AS 50 STATE LEAGLE YOUR FINE. SOME KNOCK OFFS SAY THEY ARE BUT THEY ARENT REALLY. YOU MIGHT SPEND A BIT MORE BUT JUST WAIT TILL YOU SEE THE FACE OF THE GUY AT YOUR NEXT EMISSION TEST WHEN HE POPS YOU HOOD AND CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT
