what are good car alarm systems for a reasonable price? where can i get it? how much are they? why do you think they are good?

 

If your looking for just a basic alarm you can probably find one for somewhere in the range of 175 to 300. Viper and Python are really good brands. I've been working with those 2 for almost 4 years now and I haven't really had that many problems out of them unless they are installed incorrectly. Python you can get at Circuit City, Viper you can get at Best Buy.

 

i have had a TOAD alarm thought it was brilliant, i dont know if its the same in the US, but u can get thatcher approved alarms that when they are installed by a thatcher person, your insurance drops

 

ok so i looked over the python and the viper products... actually i didnt really get a chance to check out viper's, i just glanced at them. anyways, which one is better?

 

they are the same thing. they are both made by DEI and they both carry the same models just different names

 

can i install these myself or do i need to pay the arm and leg for a professional to install it? if so, how easy/hard is it to install?

 

depends how good you are with electrics, just do some research before you do it. i would do it myself, saying that i have spent whole days cursing at my car trying todo some thing before now, but after the first attempt it always gets easier

 

I have the Viper alarm, and starter. It's pretty good. Only problem I have with it is that the alarm LED light stops flashing after awhile for some reason.....
